Are your tools real?

Yes — we name the maker and the place. Our whisks are real Takayama chasen from Nara; our bowls are Mino-yaki. We don't use the invented “ceremonial grade” label; we tell you the origin instead.

Why won't my matcha froth?

Almost always the whisk. A cheap whisk with too few prongs can't hold air. A real 80–100 prong Takayama chasen fixes it — keep your bowl, change one thing.

Why is my matcha bitter or lumpy?

Water too hot (use about 70–80°C, not boiling), too much powder, or no sifting. Sift first — it's the difference between a lump and a cloud.

How long does a whisk last?

One to two years with care; a few months if mistreated. It's a consumable, like a good brush.

Do I need to know the tea ceremony?

No. A few minutes, a bowl, and your attention. Most Japanese people have never done it either.
